At EDiM, we know our target market well and what our customers expect: this is why we know that, today, the expected quality standards are increasingly high, the specifications to be met are increasingly stringent, and the challenges that the market poses to us are more and more demanding. However, this does not stop us; on the contrary, it shapes our way of working so that we can bring to market products and services that meet – or even exceed – the expected standards.

THE LOGIC OF CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT IS AT THE HEART OF ALL OUR ACTIVITIES AND INVOLVES EVERY PROCESS AND COMPANY DEPARTMENT.

Precisely for this reason, the Quality department is central within EDiM and supports every process and department. Major resources are allocated to support the Operational and Production departments: every day, the Quality department supports these processes with measurements, controls and analyses, ensuring that production always meets the high quality standards that our customers expect.
In addition to monitoring the production process, the Quality department has people in charge of managing individual projects. For example, as soon as a new job comes in, we assign a dedicated resource to it to ensure that there is always a communication channel with the customer, supporting the development of the project and favouring the implementation of all the measures that will be necessary for production. In this way, we can guarantee high quality standards for our customers throughout the project development process, from communication to idea development, from design to production.
Once the project is approved by the customer, the Quality department staff are responsible for monitoring the production process on a daily basis by carrying out measurements and analyses, while the relevant contact person continues to keep in touch directly with the customer throughout the supply period. In this way, we are able to always guarantee direct and effective communication with our customers.

In addition, special certifications assure our customers of compliance with high quality standards along the entire value chain. For example, EDiM is certified in accordance with IATF 16949:2016 (International Automotive Task Force), an international standard for Quality Management Systems in the automotive industry, which harmonises the various audits and certification systems in the global supply chain, which EDiM renews annually. By continuously implementing improvements, we are able to constantly guarantee high quality standards. This is our goal and, for this reason, we are also increasingly working with our suppliers to meet well-defined standards.

Principles for quality

AT EDiM, WE BELIEVE THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO IMPROVE WHAT CANNOT BE MEASURED.

In order to monitor our improvements, we continuously invest in the metrology sector. For example, we have decided to purchase a new 3D measuring machine annually, we have refurbished and renovated several rooms at our factories, and we have strengthened our work team in this area.

It was not long before the results of these measures became apparent: year after year, we have drastically reduced the production of non-compliant material and we want to continue to reduce this figure over time so that we can offer our customers only the very best.

We also believe that improving the efficiency of our internal processes can help streamline our work, speeding it up and helping to improve the final quality. For this reason, we have started digitising our collected data, we have increased preventive checks on parts during production, and we have strengthened staff training to improve each person’s skills and encourage independent work in different departments, promoting flexible work organisation.

All of our actions are driven by a single goal: to ensure increasingly high quality standards for our customers and remain their partner of choice in the automotive sector.
