nuovo general manager Sandro Soccol di EDiM

What has been your professional journey leading to your position as General Manager of EDiM?
After graduating in mechanical engineering in 1990, my career began immediately at Bosch. During the early years, I specialized in automotive product engineering, particularly focusing on diesel engines. I held various positions, including Team Leader, Group Leader, and Head of Design and Testing.
Later, I expanded my skills at an aluminum die-casting foundry in Germany, where I managed the TEF department, both in the casting and machining phases. After this experience, I returned to Bosch, taking on Product Management responsibilities for diesel injection systems.
In 2014, I decided to embark on a new challenge at Bosch Rexroth, where I worked in the field of hydraulic valve technology for agricultural and construction machinery. This opportunity also allowed me to gain my first work experience in Italy, specifically in Modena, where I stayed for almost seven years. After another period in Germany, still at Bosch Rexroth, I decided to embrace the position of General Manager at EDiM: here, I hope to leverage my previous experiences and contribute to the success and growth of the company.

What were your initial impressions of the company culture at EDiM, the team, and the work environment?
I was immediately struck by the employees’ passion for their work and for the company: despite the challenging times the company has faced over the years, it has always managed to push forward, up to now, precisely because of the people who make it up.
Just as it has been in facing past difficulties, today the perseverance of the employees remains essential for us to continue growing, improving, and achieving even higher levels. We have significant projects in the pipeline, on which we will continue to work with determination.

What do you believe are the distinctive features of EDiM? What makes this company unique and different in the market?
In my opinion, every company is defined by the people who are part of it, and ultimately, that’s what makes the difference. In the case of EDiM, we benefit greatly from having a close connection with Bosch, particularly in terms of the skills and support that the Group offers us: it’s a high-level potential that constantly contributes to our growth.

What goals are you pursuing with the company?
This is a particularly productive time for EDiM, thanks also to the acquisition of numerous new projects: it’s an opportunity to continue innovating our reality, increasing our skills, developing new partnerships, and strengthening existing ones.
Now, the market offers many opportunities, as we found, for example, during our participation in EUROGUSS in Germany, where we had the opportunity to meet many clients and receive positive feedback. We certainly want to continue leveraging all the opportunities that the market offers us.

What progress is EDiM making in creating future-oriented products and services?
We are working diligently to keep EDiM highly competitive in the market, focusing on the technology used, internal innovation, skills development at all levels, and our ability to maintain high standards over time. As mentioned earlier, there are many new projects now, but this does not change our commitment to our customers, to whom we continue to guarantee a consistent supply, always with a focus on the quality offered.

Considering the competitive landscape, what do you believe are the main challenges that EDiM will have to face in the near future?
Carefully and judiciously utilizing the resources needed for our processes is important, both from a production efficiency perspective and from an environmental sustainability perspective. In addition to this, we want to continue enhancing the skills of our employees at all levels, paying particular attention to the operational level. Thanks to technological evolution, our machines will become increasingly modern: adaptation must occur on both the technological and managerial fronts, ensuring synergistic work at all levels. We want to continue working towards offering our customers quality products at competitive costs, to continue growing together and seizing all the opportunities that the market has to offer.
