Excellence in the marketplace is only possible with well-trained, motivated employees who believe they are an integral part of the company. With Employer Branding initiatives, EDiM nurtures the talents of tomorrow maintaining a high level of internal engagement.
EDiM aims to be a point of reference for global markets for what concerns die-casting and machining for the large-scale industry: an innovative and environmental friendly company that offers high-quality products, which are state of the art from a technological point of view. Therefore EDiM is some of the biggest companies’ preferred partner in many sectors, including in particular the automotive industry, but not only that: we also want to be an attractive place to work, capable of attracting new talent, helping to shape the workforce of the future and retaining our employees. This is why we have initiated various Employer Branding activities.
FOR US, EMPLOYER BRANDING MEANS ACTING ON A NUMBER OF FRONTS: CONTRIBUTING TO THE TRAINING OF THOSE WHO WILL WORK IN OUR SECTOR IN THE FUTURE, ATTRACTING NEW TALENT, AND CULTIVATING SKILLS WITHIN OUR COMPANY.
We believe that in order to strive for excellence, ensuring we train the next generation of professionals properly is essential. In this context, the collaboration between EDiM and the Technical Institutes of Higher Education, with which we have been running work experience programmes for years, plays a strategic role. In the long term, these schemes help reduce the gap between the skills mastered by school leavers and those required by the world of work. The Plant in Quero hosted students of the ITS Academy Meccatronico Veneto in the two-year period 2020-2022. For this initiative, EDiM was awarded the Bollino per l’Alternanza di Qualità (BAQ – Quality Work Experience Mark) by Confindustria. Next autumn we plan to go back to the local schools to meet new students interested in embarking on a similar path.

We also collaborate with various technical institutes in the area around the Villasanta site, such as the ITI Hensemberger in Monza. For the past three years, we have been hosting students in PCTO (Soft Skill and Orientation Courses) dedicated to automation. As part of these courses, we select a number of young people to work in the company for a three-week period alongside our experts: an opportunity for students to gain their first experience in the field, get to know the world of work and begin thinking more concretely about how to structure their future careers.
TRAINING TOMORROW'S TALENTS IS ESSENTIAL, BUT SO IS WELCOMING NEW RECRUITS, INTRODUCING THEM TO OUR BUSINESS AND MAKING COWORKERS UNDERSTAND THE VALUE OF THEIR WORK FOR THE COMPANY.
For welcoming a new colleague into the company, it is essential to ensure that he or she is properly onboarded and inducted. For example, the Welcome Coffee is an informal event where new colleagues are invited to share their professional and personal expectations of the new professional experience they have decided to tackle. The General Manager also takes part in this event and, thanks to a panoramic view of individual and company expectations, he always succeeds in involving the new colleagues and making them part of the process right from the start.
For us, being an attractive workplace also means providing a stimulating environment for our current employees. Many of them have been working at EDiM for a long time and have cultivated their skills and expressed their potential within our company. It is important for us that they can continue to do so, by always taking up new challenges and developing new skills. For this to be possible, we believe that working in an environment that is stimulating but also friendly and welcoming, is essential. A number of activities organised together with our employees, such as the recent participation in the Milano Marathon, are proof of this. We are developing other initiatives that demonstrate EDiM’s focus on all important aspects of its employees’ lives: for example, we believe that supporting parenthood is a crucial commitment. We want to support our employees who are starting out on this path, by giving them the right tools to balance their private and professional life. We have put this commitment into action by creating a gift kit for new parents, to remind them that the company support them in such an important moment.
